The water level in the West River/ Retreat Meadows has been high all week.
The only shorebirds observed were 8 Killdeer and 1 Spotted Sandpiper
yesterday. Other birds of note yesterday were 3 Great Egrets, 1 Green Heron,
and 1 Merlin. Today the Merlin and Green Heron were still around and a pair of
Wilson's Warblers were flitting about in the willows near the parking area for
the West River Trail.
