I have been in contact with Network Services.  They along with other ETS staff are working on this mystery as we speak since the issue is taking place in offices all across campus.

2 computers in one office both froze up partially at about the same time (Firefox/Tbird "not responding", unable to browse network shares or ping, unable to start Task Manager, clock frozen in time, yet text editor & putty session previously open are still functional on one).  Rebooting one system cleared it up; the other can't currently be rebooted until job running via putty session is done.

Down the hall, two other systems I booted to apply various updates froze up in similar fashion.  Simply opened web browser and was unable to connect.  Rebooted and they worked again.

Weird.

I tried to call the Helpline.  I was forwarded to voicemail.
I'm sure they are busy with the students.
But we're still having problems here.  Slowed connectivity in
Internet Explorer leading to freezing up, leading to screen just
going black after trying control+alt+delete to start Task Manager.

only some of us have had the issue.  It seems okay after a reboot.

time or freezing up in web browsers and other applications.

Anyone else?
