No in Marshfield. Until recently, Twinfield Union School allowed
the head of maintenance to use the school's truck to commute, but
residents were upset that he used it to plow his own driveway. The
issue was repeatedly brought up at school board meetings where people
questioned the practice and questioned whether the school's insurance
company was aware of it and whether the practice was accounted for when
calculating payroll taxes (most likely it would be a taxable fringe
benefit). Now it stays parked at the school.

Subject: Cars for commute
Questions for folks out there: does you town provide a town owned
vehicle and town gas for any of your department heads to commute back and
forth to work?
I need this information for a selectboard meeting tomorrow night.
Thanks ahead of time,
Marianne in Windsor
