The helpline took a number of calls about these emails so this is an issue.

Not all of the destination URLs are the same.  The one I saw went to fnkmonmg DOT info.

Subject: Re: Bogus LinkedIn messages

Another FYI so folks know... it reports a purchase of more than $600 (I know, yikes) on the iTunes store... its you "receipt" for purchase. Then there's multiple links to the "iTunes store" like a real receipt does (its a rather nicely faked Apple receipt if I may add) and any of the links you click on will bring you to the page that states "Download Adobe Flash Player" which is obviously a fake.

The spoof URL is HTTP pkrdbmdv DOT INFO is it possible for us to block folks from going to the site from UVM, as we've done with fakes in the past?

I followed this thread the other day, and we've had some folks receiving them too.

Now it seems that folks are receiving spoof iTunes message too! FYI

It appears that messages that are purportedly from LinkedIn Communications are being received by some UVMers.  The subject, today, is “LinkedIn Messages, 9/30/2010.”  Hovering over the message links shows that the destination is anything but LinkedIn.  Has there been other reports of this spoofing attempt?
