My GF and I happily get in the car, drive to the polling place, cast our  
votes knowing we cancel each other out and not having it any other way.

Voter turnout this cycle in many  places is projected at 50% - pretty 
good for a non-Presidential year but  certainly unimpressive.  Over time, 
if enough people fail to exercise  their right - and their responsibility 
- to vote, you won't need to send  idiots like your co-worker anywhere.  
They'll have it right  here.
