As one of the few PhD, RVTs out there, I may have a doctorate degree but
does not give me a license to practice medicine.  It is the medical license
which is needed to provide the final reading/interpretation/diagnosis.
While a good deal of work can be done by a non-MD, as Frank mentioned, there
needs to be a system in place for a physician to appropriately supervise and
review/read/interpret the studies.

Along a similar thread, can a PhD read studies?  And if they did, say with
the title of Technical Director and then billed Medicare as such for say,
10-15 years, would/could that leave that facility open to penalties or
whistleblower issues?
