For the time being, the listers will still need a copy of what the attorney submits.  The answer below was referring to whether we need to print another copy in addition or instead of what the lawyers send.

Re: no need to print a copy--see #3--how are the Listers going to be made privy to the transfers without the copy?  We don't have access to the Clerk's program.  How are the appraisers, researchers going to research the transfers unless they bother the Clerk for her to look up the info.  I hope that Clerk's do make hard copies for us.

Town and Municipal Clerks:

We are off with flying colors!  Thanks to all of you who have logged in to the new system and added users to your queues.  By now some of you have even had a chance to complete some returns!

A few minor notes about the electronic system now that we are rolling:
        1. The UserID is your first initial and full last name, I apologize for the miss information but the example is correct. J
        2. Make sure you match the receipt number on the submitted PTTR with the one in the queue before completing.  Some preparers have submitted multiples of the same return.  You should complete only the return that was filed with the deed.
        3. You don’t have to make a copy or print a completed return unless you want to.  The information should be recorded on the documents by hand or by printing out a copy but printing or saving is not mandatory.  The return will automatically be saved in the system for you to access anytime. And don’t send us a copy-we will have it electronically!
        4. Remember to notify us of any email or personnel changes for the town administrator.
        5. Don’t forget the booklet returns are processed just as they were before.  We need the completed return sent to the state within 30 days of recording.
