11 turkey hens crossed Bear Trap Rd in Milton very leisurely about half an hour ago in front of my car. I was very patient because I loved watching them. Couldn't spot a tom. Each one stopped to look around in the middle of the road, there was no other traffic, fortunately. They were meandering in sparse woods at the side of the road slowly working their way into denser coverage. I'm sure they know they are out of season, at least for a couple of months, plus none of them were bearded.
