When I lived in southern New England, during the late 90's finding a dead crow in strange situations (especially DOR) was treated as a possible indication of West Nile virus which was at that time causing fairly high mortality among corvids.  Not suggesting WNV in these two cases, but DOR crows are fairly rare.

    I had always heard "You never see a road-killed crow - they're too =
smart."  I've seen two different dead crows on the road in the last =
week.  Coincidence?   Or is something more sinister going on?
