Good luck on your tournament. We will be there NEXT YEAR! I promise. Now, let me ask you.... If Oneonta held a tournament this year with World's and Policy debate, would you run the World's part of the tournament? Your team could come for half price or something! It is the only way that I can think of to make money for our team. We have NO college support! Of course, I know nothing about running a college tournament. I have run many high school tournaments. But you just tell me what to do and I will do it. I am going to ask Joe from Binghamton to see if he can do the policy. What do you think of my idea?
See you down the road. We will not be at HWS.
Let me know how I can assist you.

The college isn't able to get the vans, the gas cards, etc. as promised. We are able to go to HWS' tournament in Geneva, NY the following weekend. I want to thank you though for the generous offer and all the help that you have given me. You are really awesome. Even JOhn Parker says so!

It takes place in Slovenia, but it has leading figures from around the world of debate acting as instructors. It has had incredible results, helping teams break at worlds itself by giving them an extra edge. I routinely send some of my medium-experienced debaters there and they benefit amazingly. Last year the team came home and won three tournaments. The year before that the team went on to the main break at worlds in Africa.
It is also highly useful for a coach looking for super pointers on how to train in this format.
Last year there were over 100 attendees. It has five intensive workshop days and then a major tournament, last year 60 teams.
Now, I bet you are thinking it costs too much. Well, it isn't cheap, but consider:
- I bought round trip tickets to Venice (just a short train ride from there to the site) for $750 each.
- The event itself costs 300 Euros, but includes 4-star housing, all meals, tuition, supplies and local transportation.
- It gets huge results.

Oh yeah, and it takes place in the absolutely beautiful Julian Alps.
