This morning on Blodgett Rd, Vernon there was an enormous flock of
blackbirds. I estimated between 3,000 and 4,000. Vast majority were RWBL,
though there were also lots of grackles and starlings. Would not be
surprised if there was a yellow-headed in that lot somewhere. Trick is -
picking it out! These are probably the birds from the Hinsdale reedbed roost
site, which has held up to 10,000 individuals.
