All:

FYI.  Looks like you might still sign up if you were so moved.  Note that the training is to be followed by questions.  It does not say discussion.

Subject: [shrplist] Science and Human Rights: Event Reminder

Dear colleagues,

Please remember to sign up for the human rights training sessions, which will be held in the Revelle conference room at AAAS Headquarters on Friday, December 9.

December 10, 2010 marks Human Rights Day, the day in 1948 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In celebration of Human Rights Day, the AAAS Scientific Responsibility, Human Rights and Law Program is conducting training sessions for members of the AAAS community. The training will address the following questions:

- What are human rights?
- How are human rights relevant to your work and the mission of AAAS?
- What is AAAS doing to address human rights and how can you contribute?

Sessions will be held at the following times:

9:30 - 11:00am
12:30 - 2:00pm
4:00- 5:30pm

Email Rebecca Carlson ([log in to unmask]) to secure your spot in one of these training sessions.  (Tea, coffee and cookies will be provided).

Best regards,

Jessica Wyndham
