Hello Vermont Birders:

I squeezed in a couple outings in areas south of Burlington today.

There was a decent assortment of waterfowl in Shelburne Bay, as viewed from
the boat launch area off Bay Road. The most uncommon species was Gadwall -
two drakes and a hen mixed in with the many Mallards. An immature Cooper's
Hawk posed nicely there as well. The complete list and a photo of the
Cooper's Hawk is at:

No luck finding the Canvasback pair at Charlotte Town Beach.

Towards the end of the day, a walk at Shelburne Farm turned up two
(possibly three) Northern Harriers and an immature Northern Shrike which
was teed up in a hedgerow on the east side of North Gate Road.
