SNOWY > OWL at 3:30pm near Button Cove SP. We first spotted the bird on the > east side of Button Bay Rd, 0.3miles south of the curve to Basin > Harbor Rd. The bird was on a grassy knoll with a copse of tall > decidous trees in the background. We then saw the bird from Basin > Harbor Rd, 0.2 miles east of Button Bay Rd. > > Other birds of note (we think): > - about 100 Snow Buntings, along I89 N, mm 83.4. > - 2 Snow Geese with Canadas, Lake Rd, Charlotte. > - 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker, Converse Bay Rd. > - 6 Gadwall and 4 Bald Eagles, Fort Cassin causeway. > - 1 Northern Flicker, Button Bay Boat Access. > - a steady flow of southbound American Robins throughout the day > (800-1000 total) with a few small flocks of Cedar Waxwings. > > -Derek and Jeannette Lovitch > Pownal, Maine -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bryan Pfeiffer Birding: http://www.VermontBirdTours.com Blogging: http://www.DailyWing.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
