I had my students use regular headsets with the microphone attached. I
used a splitter to make it work. The students were either in the classroom
or sitting in a desk just right outside the classroom to record a book they
were reading. I've done this with two second grade classes. We didn't
seem to have a problem with the playback of the audio just using the head
sets with the microphone attached.
