Thanks Rob!  After rereading your email, I realized that I hadn't checked the iCloud settings.  Someone had tried to guess the password for iTunes the other day, thus forcing me to reset it.  That means that I had to go back in and add it to iCloud.  Thanks!

Restoring from a backup should have no effect on this service unless the backup settings had "location services" and/or "Find my ipad" service turned off.

btw, this service is limited to 100 devices per account...if that's an issue!
