i saw he had a paper in ma. intelligencer.  (another good or interesting one is kaplan at am. u in dc---even shows you how to run in the rain, assuming you are a triangle or something).  i think that was in Am Ma Monthly.  (dynamics of irrationals has connections to a barry mazur (yeah, harvard) article on looking at real numbers in terms of dynamical systems (also in Am ma Monthly).  course, the classic is G S mackey BAMS around 79.
  there's another web cite in NY on 'ethnomath' which has good stuff but i Kant remember it. 
    one can also look at azimuth blog (joan baez. or maybe john). renyi entropy, quantum probability, ...peace out
