Thanks, Raymond, for your support. The irony about working in school IT is that when things are running smoothly, many folks believe that you are doing nothing.

I work in a small school and play so many roles. I know that my teachers appreciate what I do but the administration has no clue and the pay scale and lack of fair benefits prove that. Donít get me wrong, I know I am sooooo lucky to have a job that I enjoy, working with the kids, and to have a job at all. But there also needs to be some consistency.
Indeed, we all are struggling, Matt. †It seems that many of us fill many roles and just get the job done as needed, and it is pretty hard to quantify that data. †

That is a great question!!!† I get the impression people are struggling with this question throughout the state.

This is interesting.
I was wondering if anyone has ever done one on what type of contract tech staff are put into? Teacher? Support Staff? Separate entity?
I know of two that have been done this year.
I sent out the first one (copied below)
"Greetings Fellow Techies,
I'm not sure if this has been done before, but we are looking for data that can help us determine what the appropriate level of support for technology use in our schools might look like.† We were hoping that you would be willing to share some basic information about the level of technology and tech support in your school/district.† Please take a moment to fill out the following Tech Support Survey.† The results can be used by all of us to start a larger discussion on appropriate staffing and technology infrastructure required to meet the needs of 21st century education. †
The survey results will be available to all at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmPk95_6yXPIdElrUktXVnFGYlBKU3F3b0dyUmJIYmc.†
Thank you for your time."
And Steve Webster sent out the second (again, copied below)
I know we've all answered some of these questions in the past, but would you please complete this quick,†7-question survey?
Click here to view the results.
Thanks very much,

I know in the past someone gathered information about the number of technology personnel each school has along with other technology information but I canít seem to find it.† Does someone have this information that they are willing to share?†
