I took a walk on the Middlebury College Organic Garden Path this evening in hopes of finding an Eastern Meadowlark but found a Northern Shrike instead. It was on the south side of 125 where there is a shrubby section of pasture. The neatest part was that I got to see it hovering into a headwind for a bit before it went out of sight. I found one near the garden path on the first week of April last year as well.

I'll try for Meadowlarks again soon.
