No surprise about DanK .................. he often comes out on whitewater in New England to paddle with us Boston area kayakers and is well beyond proficient. The crux at Zoar Gap is no problem for him. He's very good at putting newbies under his wing and getting them to crank it up a notch.
Dang, I just knew I shoulda' concocted another trip out there for this season. Every since Sping 2010, they've been having *"good weather" out there - there'd been some meager snow years (yeah, like only 400' or so at pass level in Rogers Pass or something like that) but that's changed recently.
* yeah, I think you know what I mean by "good weather" ........... 20F and snow squalls after a 2 foot dump and so on and so forth.

Well, when I'm 73, I want to ski like DanK (EricK's Dad), who has been a faithfull attendee on all nine Cat trips. In fact, he's the only guy who has made all nine trips.
Here, Dan gets the hang of balanced skiing with his new backpack while he samples some more steep tree lines on Cat Day 3.
Amazing.
