Yours is a situation where I think we need to hold teachers accountable to be professional and responsible.  I don't know of a way to do it and frankly I don't think it is a situation where technology should be involved.

At MSJ I chose not to do the resource calendar but have a standard shared calendar.  We came up with the procedure, that all events will be entered in as all day events and titled "per, teacher, number needed).   Then I have teachers look at the month view, and we have very little overlap problems.

We have been using the Google Calendar "Room, etc." feature to reserve technology in our school this year.  It has been a challenge for some teachers to learn the process, but I think that most of them now understand how to navigate the process (and I'd really prefer not to change to a different system).  That being said, the problem that we are running into at this point is when technology is overbooked.  This happens because teachers are allowed to check out individual iPads and laptops, and sometimes don't do the math to see if there are enough for them to reserve.  This brings me to my question.  Is there a way to timestamp the reservations so that we can see who reserved the iPads first?  They seem to be ordered from left to right on the calendar page if they have the same starting time, but I'm uncertain if the same holds true if one event starts at 8:30, while the other starts at 9:00.  Thanks in advance!
