Every year our hot house tomatoes need to be lowered just enough that the lowest truss is on the ground. Even in hot, bright weather always picking fruit from no more than 2' off the ground. They were stout stocky transplants, greenhouse varieties, and have more than ample space. The plants have received no nitrogen other than compost. They are around 10' long/tall and are flowering on the 10th truss right now. This week is the first harvest. I see photos of other folks tomatoes and the plants are always shorter and the fruit ripening higher up the vine. I realize its probably too late to do anything for this season but it would be great to know how to change this in the future.
Thanks,
Aaron
