I am an avid wintersport enthusiast.   The topic of the group is “Vermont Skiing Discussion and Snow Reports”.    I (and many others) find lots of useful and interesting posts on the subject in this forum.   This listserv has been around a long time.  It isn’t just for college students to catch up and stay connected.   I don’t mind the unrelated banter that much and wondered if I should even chime in, but just sayin’…     Some friends of mine who used to subscribe have unsubscribed due to all the spam.

Jon,

who are you? perhaps you could spend a few weeks reading the archives to get an idea of what we are about.  In the meantime, I'm ducking.

Isn’t this supposed to be a ski thread?     It could use some moderating…          Please find another forum for topics that don’t pertain to skiing (I suppose there is an undeniable link with beer).    I don’t mean to pick on anyone in particular; it just seems to get off topic sometimes and folks need to keep in mind that there are many listening in who don’t want the spam.

It’s not the lack of snow this time of year that keeps me from skiing in VT, It’s just that I’ve noticed the vegetation on the slopes has gotten a little too high to manage.  Grass is one thing; ferns tend to cause me to trip.  Maybe I just need wider boards…

Has anyone tried telemark waterskiing?

Carrying on the take-home message of this thread (reeb - or did I miss something in there?), I paid a visit to the Ommegang werBery in Cooperstown, NY this past weekend.  I've done a fair number of such tours over the years, but they decidedly have it going on there with a fine cafe and occasional concerts.  I'm not even the greatest fan of Belgian elas, but their lineup is quite impressive, particularly when assayed in a single sitting.
