Congratulations, John, on getting you some Sandy.
I’m jealous. Combination of road and beach closings, stiff onshore winds and stiff incoming client must-have-nows have kept me watching the surf on the video screen.

Just got back from an EPIC surfing session in Rhode Island.  Here's 3 pictures of Point Judith:

It was sloppy at these spots, but I went to another location where it was clean as a whistle and about overhead and a half.  12 guys in the water when I got there, and about 25 when I left.  (That's practically empty for a hurricane swell.)
I didn't take pictures there because I had to park several blocks away and wade through knee deep water (in the middle of the street) to get there.  Last night the water was half way up the first floor of the houses.
There was a lot of damage done to ocean front homes.  Mostly from flooding.  One house had the first 3 steps of the front stairs covered with rocks.  They looked like drifted snow, but the rocks were the size of grapefruits and basketballs.
Powers out all along the coast.

Check the new snow predictions for tonight, Wed., Wed night. Numbers like these are typically seen when Utah's Cottonwood Canyons are in a storm cycle.

In the spirit of full and honest reporting, there is no power anywhere in Tucker County now and they are not promising restoration before the middle of next week.
