Tiny little Blueberry Lake in Warren never ceases to come up with
surprises, and today was no exception. I was baffled at first since
all the ducks were sleeping, heads tucked in and tails at attention. I
could see some white on the cheeks of some. Patience and perseverance
paid off as they finally revealed themselves to be incredibly handsome
Ruddy Ducks in non-breeding plumage. This is the first close up view
of them that I've had.

Ruddy Duck 7 Very clear view of 4 males and 3 females in
non-breeding plumage. White cheeks and black caps on males clearly
evident, tails erect on all birds.

Pied-billed Grebe 1
Red-necked Grebe 2
Blue Jay 2
