Hi, neat to see a Pileated Woodpecker eating suet along with a Male Hairy
and a couple of male Downys yesterday afternoon. The usual suspects were
present - 3 male cardinals and a couple of female cardinals, lots of
mourning doves, juncos, chickadees, nuthatches, bluejays, crows, sparrows
and one 'little black bird'. Three bird books did not help - bird is
slightly more slender than a cardinal, with black cardinal beak and black
all over. Black feet, black eyes. Just one on the feeder then on the
ground. Not there today.

Cheers,

PS. Also one Male Wood Duck asleep by the woodstove, and 6 Canada Geese and
4 Mallards wondering what happened to their pond (on our 10 acre waterfowl
sanctuary).
