  _****PRIORITY REGISTRATION - CHECK YOUR STATUS STARTING FRIDAY****_

Some students will register as early as NEXT MONDAY, APRIL 1st. It is important to CHECK YOUR STATUS ON FRIDAY, MARCH 29th.

Please Note: Continuing Education Students are NOT ELIGIBLE FOR PRIORITY REGISTRATION.

If you have IN-CLASS Priority Registration, be sure to register at ***6:30 AM*** on the day of your class status [this is based on the
amount of credits you have].

  _****$1000 SCHOLARSHIP - Defining Excellence Award****_

Each year, the $1,000 Defining Excellence Award acknowledges a UVM student with a disability.  The criteria for this Award are:

- Demonstrated academic excellence by maintaining a cumulative GPA of
3.0 or above

- Service to Community

- Demonstrated an ability to work with others as a leader

The recipient of this award understands the honor and the privilege of giving to others.

Applying for the Defining Excellence Award

- Applicants must submit a 500-word, double-spaced written essay to the ACCESS program sharing how they have provided service and been a leader
in their community.

- In addition, applicants submit a minimum of one letter of recommendation from a UVM faculty member, staff member, or another student supporting their community service efforts.

- Essays and Letters of Recommendation should be emailed to [log in to unmask] with the subject line: Defining Excellence Award.

*Applications are due by Monday, April 15th*

The Defining Excellence Award is presented at the annual Student Life Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 2 from 10 am to noon in the Sugar Maple Ballroom/Davis Center.

The recipient will be notified that they are the winner and should plan to attend this event in order to be honored and given the Award at the Student Life Awards Ceremony.

Please note - Earning the $1000 Defining Excellence Award may impact your financial aid package. Please consider this benefit by seeking guidance from Student Financial Services.

ACCESS is one of the main sponsors of Disability Awareness Month. We've begun meeting with the Disability Awareness Month Committee to plan for next year's [events happen in October] events.
