Cold temps-the low was 11 this morning with a crystal clear sky.  About
half an inch of fresh snow to boot. Disconcerting to feel winter but also
to hear the wetland alive with RWB calls, black caps also in full song
along with coos of mourning doves; redpolls still at the feeder; beaver
actively chewing on trees at the wetland's edge; lots of small mammal
tracks dotting the fresh snow.  from Derby/Lake Memphremagog
