Matt,

Resorts I know.  Snow conditions I do not.

You are THE Oracle for CO snow conditions.  Where do you think it will be best this weekend?

Also, I was wondering if there are any BC options off SR 91 between Leadville and I-70.  It looks like there is a lot of high-altitude North-facing terrain there.  Say, Fletcher Mountain area?

David

I don't know what to suggest, Dave. Looks like you've got it figured out.

Eldora? Granby Ranch?

I'm guessing that Sunlight, Kendall Mountain, Ski Hesperus, & Powderhorn are too far away, huh?

Time for the annual client-pays-the-airfare trip to Colorado.  All we have are those plane tickets, though.  No clue where the snow is best.  In the past we have skied:

Don't even bother suggesting
Loveland - too small, too crowded (FWIW, I was on the crew that built the interconnect lift, in 1974)
A-Basis - even smaller, even crowdeder
Beaver Creek - "not exactly roughing it" is not exactly my idea of an interesting mountain

Someone should have bought them a compass
Vail - Back bowls face due south ??why??

So long ago that I can't remember, but I all I can think of is "Summit County"
Copper
Keystone

Old standbys
Breckenridge
Monarch
Winter Park

Fun, but not enough steeps
Ski Cooper

Great if you hit it right
Steamboat - at 10K summit, it's the lowest elevation major resort in the state, and faces East

Loved, but too far away for just a weekend
Telluride
Durango
Crested Butte
Aspen resorts

On my wish-list, but also too far away
Silverton
Wolf Creek

Suggestions, please?
