I saw your launch, I was wondering how you were going to get off the beach with all those rocks.  I was getting out as you got in.  I was on the bamboo SUP.  Glad you enjoyed our waves.  Point Judith is a great spot.

Re: Still skiing at KMart Beautiful waves at the Lighthouse this AM! (And a sloppy mess at 1st Beach; looked there first).

Less wind than Friday and coming from a slightly better angle, the waves stretched way out from shore as they wrapped around. Got a bunch of rides starting right up level with the lighthouse, and ending level with the far north end of the upper parking lot. 400 yards? They’d start as fast rights, then you’d have to cut back in left as the break sort of retreated towards shore. Big wide surface to play on. Now you’re in where you’re  watching for rocks. Then back right as the wave built up a second time and it’d be a game of how long do you dare stay on, rocks getting a little thicker all the time. Looks were deceptive. As you rode right, it looked like you could climb up and off the back any time you wanted, but that clear space would wall up quickly and you’d be committed to dodging the rocks in the break. The rides ended where a new bunch of surfers were setting up to surf Conant.

The surface—couldn’t call it glassy, but dimpled glass? Very clean, well-formed waves to ride. I’m not used to that quality surf, or rides anywhere near that long. Today was a blast for me. 4-5 boarders in the water while I was there 9 – 10:30.

Also---this’ll mean nothing to you boarders—really pleased with my launch and landing on the rocks. Timing worked well. No holes in boat. Not even a scratch.

I'm back at Kmart today.  I'll wave to you on the highway tonight!
Laps on Superstar are exhausting.
How are conditions at the lighthouse?  Did it clean up yet?

Missed you guys in the water Friday.  It was good Thursday night as well.  Skied Friday while you guys surfed.  This morning's surf was also fun. Should be better this afternoon on a lower tide if you are still around.

Yup.  It must have been you who paddled out just as i was leaving!
You had the place almost to yourself.
Pretty funny.

Whoa!
I went surfing yesterday, Friday, at Point Judith. (Pretty pleased with myself for scouting the internets and figuring out Pt.J. was the call.) In the water 3:15 – 5:15. Was one of the 2 or 3 boarders there you?

And yes, beautiful day. Wasn’t ready to take the hood off though. Rather be overwarm than cold.

Nice.
I'm in full schizoid- seasonal- overlap mode.  (Went surfing today at Point Judith)  Beautiful day.  Water is up to 50 degrees.  No hood required.
I'll be back on skis tomorrow (depending on weather).

Got out for three runs this afternoon thanks to the 1700 closing time. Weather site said 71 degrees, and it felt like it. The base resembles skiing on a glacier—very compacted, high-density stuff—but the top had softened nicely. I'd expect some pretty good skiing Saturday and Sunday. Superstar still has pretty darn good cover with only the choke point on the bottom headwall and the edges starting to look like end-of-season snowpack—the most of the trail is still very covered. Skyelark is now mostly closed, but I saw folks walking across from the bottom back to the lift.

The length of the season is likely to depend largely on how much snow they can farm for the very bottom and top and whether or not they're willing to operate in "walking required" mode—most of Superstar still has incredible coverage. I've got my fingers crossed for conditions to permit the June skiing mentioned in the official conditions report.
