William, and anyone else interested in hawk migration, here's a fascinating post by Paul Roberts, founder of the Eastern Mass. Hawkwatch and student of migration patterns, a narrative of what was seen at Mt. Wachusett on what should have been a fairly lousy day by "conventional wisdom" that ultimately amounted to more than 12,000 birds, followed by some interesting observations about the whole phenomenon.
