Follet's Destiny vendor hosted.  If there are no connectivity issues vendor hosted is not much more than locally.  As said other than scheduled maint no downtime of any significance.

Subject: Re: Library Database? - Suggestions needed

Hi Luis, Many Vermont libraries use Follett's Destiny.  There are two options:  locally hosted and vendor hosted.  Here at Stowe we switched to vendor hosted last year and have been very happy with no downtime, except for 24 hour weekend software upgrades that happen a couple times a year.

Hi List,
We're currently using Mandarin Oasis as our library/media center database.  Having some issues allowing access our catalog from outside our network.

Are any schools using Mandarin's off site hosting?  If so, how is it going and is it affordable?

Can anyone make suggestions for a different off site system?
