We have 2 vmware hosts, raid 5
They are in separate buildings connected via gigabit fiber. 1/2 of the servers run in one building 1/2 in the other. Each is cloned to the other building once per week.
Daily backups for all are done to a NAS running raid5

Veeam is what we use to run this.
One server got up to 730Gb, less now.
Never used tape, hard drives with Raid.

Subject: Data backup solutions

Just out of curiosity, what is everyone doing for data backup...tape drive, cloud storage, leaving it up to students/faculty to backup their own data? What about databases and other data that's more IT admin related and not faculty/student work files?

When you do full backups of your data sets, approximately how much data are you backing up?

Thanks
