Michelle, Pearson said there are†19 districts with 40,816 students using PowerSchool. If we can believe Wikipedia, in 2010 there were 62 supervisory unions containing less than 95,000 students. So close to 43% of the students and almost 31% of the districts in Vermont are using PowerSchool.†

Ray, is VADR along the lines of Schools Interoperability Framework? Hopefully VADR isn't the†Vermont Advance Directives Registry (VADR)†:)

I offered over a year ago to share the SQL reports that we have been using in our district to export data for the Census and S.E.C.T. Collection with the VT-AOE if it would help implement state reporting. We currently export data from PowerSchool for the Census, have registrars spot-check data, then send it off to the state via CD to be imported into the system. No hand-entering of hundreds/thousands of entries required, as the data is already in PowerSchool.

For those districts currently using PowerSchool, maybe we could start meeting again as the VT PowerSchool Users Group so that we could share these types of reports. I would be happy to work with others to share and/or improve queries to run these types of state-wide reports. Iím not sure how many districts in the state are currently PowerSchool users. It would be interesting to know that number and/or percentage of schools in the state.

Subject: Re: PowerSchool and Vermont State Reporting

I would LOVE that. †Everything I have heard from Pearson is the same. †"We would love to add Vermont, but the state won't work with us on getting it going". †At PSU Pearson said they provide an engineer specifically assigned to the state that is getting set up (each state gets their own during the build phase).

Let me know how I can help,

I was talking with our PowerSchool rep about another issue and I touched on where the reporting module for Vermont was at. Most states have a working module and it would make things so much better if we weren't exporting uploading data by hand. He says that the resistance has been from the Vermont side in getting the module operational and that Vermont has been tossing around different ideas, such as a state wide SIS (I haven't heard that, maybe I am behind the times).†

Anyone have the scoop on what is going on? If nothing else, I'd like to voice support in getting Pearson's state reporting module going.†
