We have been using Google Calendar Appointment Slots for about a year, implemented literally two weeks before Google announced they were retracting this feature... fortunately they recanted and it works well.

Pros: free, easy to access, no extra login, built-in notification, gets people to look at their GooCal if they haven't previously (maybe)

Cons: the time slots are fixed (may not work for K-4) and since we do a block schedule it was time-consuming to set up the slots.
