Amy is describing the reality we are struggling with. I believe tech
support/network admins have a responsibility to understand the challenges
that teachers face integrating technology into instructional practice and
to be empathetic to their evolving roles. So, I'm not condoning traditional
techs who are viewed as isolated, non-communicators who treat their users
condescendingly. RNESU will continue to expect their tech support personnel
to work directly with teachers, and students, when the situation warrants.

I wholeheartedly agree that Technology Integration endorsements are
extremely valuable and integrating technology goes way beyond just know how
to do something. I would love for our district to have a technology
integration position. Truth is, when we did advertise a full-time position
for integration we were unable to fill it. I spoke with others at Vermont
Fest recently, who are having the same problem.

What's the solution?
