I offer a few quick thoughts on green screen I just bought a starter kit. I
used to B an H photography . I bought the largest green screen I could with
a steel spring support.
It was 8 feet by 16 . it's really 8 by 8 with a 8 foot pull out in the
steel spring keeps it pretty tight. Honestly the five by sevens were way
too small
I purchased wondershare Video Editing, but I'm not recommending that. Its
good but it could be better. I may try the other one that was recommended
here earlier by Eric. I used a three point lighting system, also purchased
at B&H. I'll send a video tomorrow to let you see what it looks like but my
students are still playing with it . Overall I'm pretty happy with the
setup its not professional but it's pretty darn close. Cheers Jon
Coincidentally I just set ours up this morning. We got this one
<http://www.amazon.com/Chromakey-Background-Support-Lighting-H604SB-1020G/dp/B0081WSF9M/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1415217117&sr=1-2&keywords=green+screen+kit>
from Amazon last year, and it suits our purpose (portable, sufficient for
"amature" work.) I followed Linda's advice about 3 lights, but honestly in
a well-lit room I have not found the "top light" makes much difference for
video. I guess it helps for portraits, etc.

The key is software: Chromakey is built in to iMovie but I never found a
plugin that worked with Moviemaker Live 2013 (the one out there is for an
older version of WMM, which is inferior.) I have been using the free MoviePlus
Starter Edition <http://www.serif.com/free-video-editing-software/> from
Serif and it does what we need it to do.

I hope this helps,
