I have pasted the minutes, kindly written by Ben Allen, below, so that you should be able to get up to speed with the issues quite easily. The minutes dont say but the appalachian studies proposals (panel and poster) were accepted.

Please fill in the poll and contact me if you are keen to contribute to the discussion/actions but cant make those dates. They are 10-14 days from now.

    • WBAI situation always in flux, but would still be a good place for us to get a start with the radio program

    • Charlie, Johnathan, and Paul had a phone call concerning the website
    • Discussion with Sigrid to migrate to the conference website, will be possible
    • Putting video on website, Dick Levins lectures
    • No one has offered articles yet, maybe an issues of outreach and time
    • Sending request for content to the broader SftP listserv
  • Overall purpose of a new SftP-who has ideas how we can make a mark/have a niche?
    • Need for more internal organization to tackle particular issues of science and society?
    •  Discussion of theory and practice
      • Bringing people into both the discussion and into realizing ideals
    • How to contribute to a better understanding of science in activist communities?
    • How to contribute to putting science in service of ‘movement work’?

    • Julie and Jonathan working to develop Hippocratic Oath for Scientists
