The browsers released within the VT Portal are the latest browsers and final, (according to AIR) ones for this Spring. vt.portal.airast.org
There was no way to know this past summer what was coming. You having 6.3 was all you could do. The update solves a number of issues that we were experiencing with the practice and training tests, so now your schools can get back to that.
The current version on the Windows side is 7.2
Again.. the Portal above has latest of all OS browsers.

When you say "current" what version are you referring to?
Current, on my Windows machines, is v 6.3. I put it in my image last summer so we would "be ready" for testing this spring!

Two things..
1. Uninstalling older versions of SBAC secure browsers. Recommendation from AIR, and from the state level too is to just follow the documentation steps that are included with each browser on the browser page at the portal: vt.portal.airast.orgJust quickly looking at the Mac and Windows ones.. they both indicate removal of the older version. Certainly, you have your own local policies on this kind of thing.. but best to not have confusion later on differing versions.
2. AIR has indicated in the trainings that the current browser is good for 2014-2015 school year. They will not be updating through the assessment window and their preferred timing is to make the secure browser an annual update only. Their goal is one release a year. They indicate they cannot always control the various OS vendors, but they are shooting for summer releases of the annual browser update.Bottom line.. this new round of secure browsers are the final ones for this assessment cycle.

Sent from my iPadReading through the documentation regarding the installation of the secure browser, it notes that previous versions be uninstalled prior to installation of new version.
I had issues with version 7. Current version I have not an issue. Is there a NEED to uninstall earlier versions? I don't know...but would be good to keep a clean application list to avoid confusion between which version to use. Why keep an outdated version that will never be used again?
Hank, I would install the most current version (and make the decision on what to do with the slightly older version)...at least that is what I am planning...

Which begs the question...we just installed the SBAC version 7.0 browser on 60+ computers, do we have to uninstall that and replace it with the VT version 7.2? It's worth noting that the VT installer does NOT automatically uinstall the SBAC "product".
