Sorry to say, but in So Calif, the land of CYA medicine , you do anything you are ordered to do. 9Pm or 2AM..... I do have to say, I took call at one hospital that requires all carotids and arterials to have the approval of the Vascular on call before calling the tech in after hours AND I actually went in before I knew this AND got an apology from the director for the call back at 2am. I was IMPRESSED! I was privileged to have my address included with theirs. In short order the number of names became onerous. I am lazy. I summoned all my energy and called the IT dept at UVM to find out how to automate the process. They said give us a name for your list and a faculty advisor. I spent the rest of the day recuperating from the effort. So, it's not like I invented the sticky note or anything, but sometimes it pays to seek simplicity. This was set up as an email List Serve when that was the cutting edge technology! I believe it was going to be dismantled and there was an outcry of objection.
