Bev,
I was on Next Step this weekend and was saddened to hear about Lam. I'm glad he is doing okay. I had a hunch you were going to be short staffed for this. Thank you for letting me know. I will be sure to keep you on the contact list for next year.
Take Care,
Dylan

Hi Dylan,
I hope you're well.
It was great to glimpse you the other day - maybe we can do better than that and have a tea or coffee date this semester?
Unfortunately, I am writing to share that the ASC is unable to collaborate on Equity Week this year.
As you may know, our colleague Lam was injured in a recent car accident and while he is healing rapidly, I expect that he will be out for at least a month to six weeks.
We are currently down two full time staff members in the ASC and those of us who remain are unable to absorb all of that work into our roles.
Sadly, we can't do our "Tel Me a Story About Race" program.
We DO hope to participate next year so please keep us on the contact list for future planning.
I am truly sorry about our need to back out but, we just don't have the human resources at this time
Thank you for your understanding,
Bev

Hi Bev,
I just wanted to touch base about Equity Week. Is there someone at the Center who would be my primary contact, mainly for calendar/marketing purposes? I look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Dylan

Hi Dylan,
Thanks for getting back to us with the dates.
This week looks goof to me and we look forward to taking part.
We will also brainstorm the names of some potential students who might want to serve on CODEEE.
We'll get back to you.
Take good care,
Bev

Lam & Bev,
As a follow up to the discussion we had a few weeks ago, I just wanted to give you both the final date for Equity Week. After discussions with Pat Brown and others, the week of February 9th is the best week available during the Spring Semester.
This is the week that sits between Racial Akido and the Examining White Privilege Retreat. I know there were some concerns from the two of you about having it too close to Racial Akido. I do not foresee any issues if the calendar is planned accordingly, but please send any concerns my way.
In addition, I still have 2 open spots on CODEEE. If you know of anyone interested in working on diversity & equity-related issues on an institutional level, feel free to send them my way. I am looking forward to working with the ASC on what I hope will be a powerful week on campus.
All my best,
Dylan
