Andrew –

I’ve been struggling with my users recently with the new machines and the lack of the physical wireless switch on them. I had totally missed this new BIOS setting – why it’s not under the “wireless” category I don’t know. But anyway, you just made my day. Thank you!

Turn off the wifi NIC using the on board switch on the laptop?

Recent vintage Dell Latitudes also have the option in the BIOS of disabling the wifi when an ethernet cable is attached.

I'm hoping there is an easy way to get rid of wireless connect messages?  They really don't cause any issues but our laptop users are often docked with a (preferred, faster, more reliable) LAN connection and see these messages throughout the day.

I've messed with changing adapter settings without success and the individual UVM wireless profiles appear to be locked down. I thought about having users disable wireless but that seems like a future support call...

any suggestions appreciated,
