I have the CTL J4 at a couple of schools and they have been very nice so far. Only complaint is the power adapter not being a brick type power adapter.

WWSU seconds the CTL.  Happiness generally here.  New NL6 models have better CPU and they are fast and rugged.  Big factor for us was the flip cam above display to capture both video conference and also projects by flipping the cam.

We have about 30 Acers and the 90 CTL NL6.
Everyone loves the CTL. We have had to send 3 Acer models back for repairs.
This is our experience. CTL model is much more rugged, but costs more.

As an aside:

Recently deployed the CTL NL6 to grade 4-5-6 one-to-one including Staff.  Asked Staff the other day and they were fine with the smaller size device.  (My wife being one - I only see her at home using the Chromebook and not the 13" MacBook Pro she has).  Out of all the conversations, only one Teacher had any comments regarding the device size.  She had been using the Chromebook everyday and then needed to use her MBP for specific software.  She realized how much nicer the keyboard was (size and feel).  She commented that she didn't realize the difference until she actually went back to the bigger device.  What was interesting was she said it wouldn't keep her from using the CB as her daily driver.

What I would love to hear (perhaps in a different thread) is actual data/responses from end users on the use of different sized CBs.  I sometime think that we as Techs try to compensate "quality" with "quantity".  Does the end user really benefit from a larger screen and keyboard or is that a incorrectly perceived need of others by those of us recommending devices for purchase?  Are we trying to rationalize the use of a CB when Staff may be used to a MacBook Pro or HP 15" laptop?

On/off list or different thread...

If students are going to be carrying them around and home. I'd suggest the smaller screen size. The 11 isn't too small, I use it for my primary work and don't have an issue.

Good discussion question for a rainy day!

If you had to purchase 30 chromebooks today, what brand would you buy?  What size screen?  11.4" or 14"?
