Here’s a cool tidbit from a recent Fish and Wildlife report: Nearly 71.8 billion Americans fed, photographed, and observed wildlife in 2011 (the study was done in 2012). Not surprisingly, the greatest numbers of wildlife observers were in populous states (CA, TX, FL, PA and NY) - but the largest percentage was in Vermont, with 53% of people reporting that they notice, watch and enjoy wildlife. Runners-up were West Virginia, Wisconsin, Alaska and Oklahoma.
