I have been entering data into ebird and wanted to add more details. In the winter are their distinguishing marks to tell the male from the female for the American goldfinch, juncos, and mourning doves. In the book I noticed the male junco is totally dark gray with the female being brownish. Does this always hold true? It seemed there wasn't any differences for the morning doves. The goldfinch also had no differences. I also looked at pine siskins and it seemed the male had wider yellow wing markings. Does the female not show yellow wing markings? Thanks for any input.
