This afternoon there were well over 100 ducks at the flooded area at the bridge along Slang Road in Panton, most of which were GW Teal. However, there were several typical American Wigeon foraging there, as well as an apparent Eurasian Wigeon with its contrasting rusty head and breast and overall gray body. In the bright sunlight the "pate" appeared white rather than buffy, though. Confirmation welcome.

Also, there were at least 14 Northern Shovelers feeding in this area, most of which were males. Always a treat to see shovelers, especially in large groups like this.
