It all depends on how it broke.  The little metal nub at the bottom breaking off is pretty common and can be extracted with a wide range of tools like the inkwell on a bic pen and some crazy glue.  However, if it breaks clean across the metal it might be nearly impossible to remove.

 

The GripStick (http://nightek.com) looks to be perfect tool for most “normal” breakages.
