On the Long Trail south from Brandon Gap I found a family of winter wrens plus teenaged ruffed grouse.
The most surprising was a hummingbird on the Chittenden Brook Trail . It was visiting jewel weed . Then rose straight up into the sky and zipped out of there.
A non-avian first was Green-capped Jelly Baby mushroom.
