I think that until Google (or someone) really develops an easy way to
deploy and manage Android tablets, Apple's iPad will continue to flourish
for those wanting a managed tablet experience.  I don't see much in this
speculative article to lend me to think that Apple is nearing any "iPad end
of life".  I really like the direction that Apple has gone with
improvements to the MDM/Profile Manager.  My life has been simplified by
these steps.  If a touchscreen/flip Chromebook had been an option back in
the original Apple Configurator days, perhaps this would be a different
discussion.  I like having these options and perhaps the competition in the
touchscreen and/or tablet markets will be a boon to us in Educational
Technology whether it be on the management or user end.
