A couple of things you can try that have worked for HP chromebooks with
similar issues. We found when chromebooks become completely discharged they
will not recharge correctly. On newer laptops without a removable battery
the reset is to hold the power button for 20 seconds to force a hard reset.
Make sure you don't have the AC adapter plugged in until after you reset it
with the power key. If you perform an OS reset function (ctl, reload and
power keys) the chromebook should be forced to restart the chrome OS.
